Surprise! Valve closes the week with the announcement of a new Steam, and some numbers:
“During the last 12 months, Steam has grown 200 %. 25 exist now millions of users, 1000 + games, 12 billion minutes of player a month, and 75 billion minutes of the client Steam monthly” or, in other words, we need a new Steam, with steroids, from preference.
Available like an optional beta (clic in this linkage with Steam being executed), the new innovation injection packs from one renewed user's interface and principal code, up to a Web injection 2.0 with special emphasis on the social networks more pop to spy on the rest of our friends.
I joust from within of your games Library, now you can see which of your friends it plays every game or to invite them to play with you. Even if you have not bought a game, the knowledge if your friends are playing it is one of the more useful samples of information to have to hand. So on the principal page of the shop, there is a new list of what your friends have bought or played recently.
There is a new news feed, bringing information of the games over to the sale, so much of Valve as on the outside. And a new way of organizing the Achievements, because seemingly these damned things matter for the people.
And something that certainly he is worth emphasizing, how good nerd that I am, is the eradication of Internet Explorer of the entrails of the client; that now uses an engine based on WebKit (the same that there use Chrome, Safari, Epiphany, and the rest of “the big ones”) for the composition and all that related to the web, jousted how to close the innovations list with golden brooch.
More information and informative reading, in this linkage.
